Centre to grant financial assistance for development of language and culture of North East tribals

RUKSIN, Jan 19: Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Pawan Singh Ghatwar said that the Centre is all set to grant financial assistance meant for development of language and culture of the tribals living in the Northeastern states.

He was speaking at the concluding session of the 20th biennial conference of Mishing Agom Kebang (MAK) at Jonai near Assam-Arunachal border today.

Pointing towards the extension of BG rail link to Pasighat and Kareng Bogibeel bridge on Brahmaputra as part of developmental efforts in Northeast, Ghatwar emphasized on united efforts among the NE tribal groups for development of the region.

Speaking at the occasion, Member of Parliament (MP) from East-Arunachal Ninong Ering reiterated the age-old relationship between Adi and Mishing communities and hoped that the amity would be long lasting.

Ering while describing the age-old relationship between Adis and Mishing, appealed to the people of both the communities to maintain the same relationship in future.

He donated some amount to a Mishing youth cultural troupe, who have performed group dance showcasing an ancient Adi-Mishing cultures. Recalling the contributions of late Daying Ering, the noted social reformer of Arunachal, in the field of literary development of Adis, he said that the Donyi-Polo Yelam Kebang is searching books authored by different writers regarding mythology of the tribes of Arunachal.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi also attended the meeting and said that a Tribal Cultural Research Centre at Guwahati would be established for which land has already been acquired.

He also informed about various developmental initiative taken by his government for the tribals in Assam.

Eminent Mishing people from Arunachal also participated during the four-day-long programme.

The third day programme included a colorful cultural procession, where two Ponung troupes of Arunachal Pradesh participated.

It is worth mentioning that the Mishing Agom Kebang (Mishing Literary Society) was formed in 1972, with an objective of growth, research and development of Mishing language and culture.

The main attractions of the four-day occasion included cultural exhibition, traditional food festival, book fair and seminar on various cultural and historical topics on Mishings.

Well-decorated models of traditional Mishing house, ‘Murong Okum (De:re:)’ and ‘Tongi’ related to socio-cultural lives of Mishings were some other attractions.

Jonai, the sub division Dhemaji district of Assam is a Mishing populated area, bordering Ruksin in East Siang district.

 

Tuki for finding alternative to Opium cultivation

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today expressed serious concern over the reported cultivation of opium in at least five districts of the state and subsequent addiction inflicting local populace.

Interacting with officials from Institute of Narcotics Study and Analysis (INSA) and Narcotics Control department of Government of India here today, Tuki strongly suggested alternate ways of livelihood to lure people away from Opium cultivation.

“Opium cultivation here is basically practiced as it yields a profitable income for rural and poor people. With time it has become a tradition as use of opium is traditionally accepted in indigenous rituals and functions. Therefore, we must give them alternate ways of income generation along with awareness to stop this illegal practice,” the Chief Minister emphasized.

Hinting at schemes for propagating horticulture and cultivation of marketable cash crops in place of opium, Tuki appealed to the central government authorities to extend financial aid to the state government as the state, by itself, was not financially equipped to implement such schemes.

To the suggestion for establishment of de-addiction centers in the state, the Chief Minister observed that few already established centers, which are attached to health centers, have gone defunct due to lack of equipments, manpower and regular funding. To do away with similar hurdles, he suggested establishment of a model center in one of the most effected areas of the state, may be in Lohit or Anjaw, with all the facilities and required back-up. If it is successful, he said, other centers can be modeled on it and established in all areas on need basis.

He further said that the Center can offer a special package to persons obliging to give up opium cultivation as well as addiction. This, he said, will encourage genuine interest in people and addicts to give up the practice.

“All these measures would be successful when the administration and law enforcing agencies coordinate and work together,” Tuki pointed.  With regard to strong and immediate measures to curb the menace, the Chief Minister even suggested making it a policy to go for drug-tests during recruitments in all departments. If implemented, this would drastically bring down drug addiction in youths and subsequently discourage opium as well as Ganja cultivation in the state, Tuki said.

R N Srivastava, Director Narcotics Control, Union Ministry of Finance, informed that the Parliament had recently passed a National Policy on drug abuse under which funds are made available for schemes and programmes to dissuade illegal cultivation of opium and drug abuse.

“We need a comprehensive proposal from the state government. Funds will never be a constraint,” he assured.

INSA had earlier conducted a survey on opium cultivation and drug abuse in the state under the directives of Tax & Excise department, Government of India, which indicated an alarming situation particularly in the districts of Lohit, Anjaw, Lower Dibang Valley, Changlang and Upper Siang districts. Based on the survey, it had forwarded four recommendations to the government which included establishment of de-addiction and rehabilitation centers, especially in Lohit and Anjaw districts, alternate developments, strict enforcement of law against illicit cultivation and a scheme to register addicts so that opium can be legally prescribed to them as medicine for treatment.

Later in the day, BRO officers of Project Arunank and Brahmank called on the Chief Minister and apprised him of road projects being implemented by them in the state.

Tuki reiterated his suggestion for evolving a working calendar with respect to implementation of projects in Arunachal. While emphasizing on completion of projects on time, he expressed concern over complaints arising against the organization not only from within the state but also from Union Ministries and central government agencies.

“If you do not complete projects on time while maintaining quality, the state government has to bear the brunt,” he pointed out. Offering cooperation by his government, Tuki said he expects same kind of response from the BRO.

Besides discussing the status of various projects being undertaken by Project Arunank and Project Brahmank with respective Chief Engineers A K Goyal and S K Pandey, Tuki also urged them to recruit as many local people as possible from project affected areas. The interaction was also joined by Rural Development Minister Tanga Byaling, Commissioner PWD and Chief Engineer Highways.

 

School education in Arunachal: A tale of woes

ITANAGAR, Jan 19:  The education and health sectors have always been at the forefront of every government’s agenda in Arunachal Pradesh. Significant amount of attention have been paid to the educational scenario in the effort to raise it at par with the rest of the country.

However, the lack of adequate resource has often been cited as an impediment in this endeavour, whether it be with regard to the failure to pay the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers  salary or the inability to improve school infrastructure. As a matter of fact, SSA teachers have been working without salary since November 2011, bringing the educational system in state, especially in the rural areas, to a complete standstill. The apparent lack of funds has also curtailed infrastructural development of schools.

According to data accessed by this correspondent, the state government has failed to pay its state matching share in the SSA project since 2003 till 2011. This translates to a huge debt of almost Rupees fifty crores. Interestingly when the sharing pattern was 75-25 (75% for Centre and 25 % for state), fifteen percent of the state’s share was paid by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and thus the state had to pay only 10% of the matching share. Even in this, the performance of the state has been a resounding failure.

According to official source, the Centre had released 88 crores in August 2011 last. Accordingly, the state should have paid 9 crores as its matching share to ensure the grant as per the outlay plan and Project Approval Board (PAB). Regrettably the state miserably failed to pay again.

In the face of such non-performance, the central question is whether Arunachal Pradesh really wants quality education and functional schools? Meanwhile, the SSA teachers are shouting hoarse, demanding that authorities release their salaries at the earliest, and hundreds of schools run by them are forced to close indefinitely. The pitiable condition of the SSA teachers and the unfortunate predicament of the students is a matter of concern not only for the government but also for every thinking citizen.

And notwithstanding the intermittent declarations by the authorities, serious doubts remain as to the efforts being made to restructure the educational system. Term it laxity and apathy on the part of the government or the lack of political will to achieve educational goals, the fact remains that the educational system of the state is in the doldrums.

At this juncture, the announcement by the government on Wednesday of Rs. 25 crores as the state matching share for the current fiscal year came as a pleasant development.  This hopefully is the first in the many steps needed to assuage the distress of the contractual teachers and prevent their hitherto announced pen down strike from January.

All eyes are now on the Tuki led government and its efforts to turn the fortunes of the educational establishment in the state.

 

Mother of Education Minister passes away

PASIGHAT, Jan 19: Yakot Siram, mother of Education Minister Bosiram Siram breathed her last due to prolonged illness at around 8.30 pm on January 18.

She was 87 and left behind her husband Nyokar Siram, head gaon burah of Yagrung village, five sons and four daughters. Bolung Siram, an  IAS officer is the eldest son while Bosiram is fourth.

Industries Minister Tapang Taloh, MP Ninong Ering, Advisor to CM Tako Dabii, MLAs Ralom Borang and Dr. Tangor Tapok and DC Talem Tapok, Director (Edn) Tapang Taloh and his deputy Tani Talom expressed deep shock at the passing away of Yakot Siram.

The people of Bogong Banggo and nearby areas, party functionaries, relatives, well wishers from different communities thronged Bolung Siram’s residence at Pasighat to pay their last respect to late Yakot.

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee expressed deep shock at the death of Education Minister Bosiram  Siram’s mother.

In a condolence message, APCC said, Late Yakot Siram was a renowned social worker of Yagrung  and nearby villages. The committee conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

The officers and officials of the Directorate of School and Higher and Technical Education also deeply mourned the sudden demise of Yakot. She was an exemplary mother and an outstanding lady who gave her children proper education in spite of being a lady belonging to a rural back ground, Director of School Education T Taloh said in a condolence message. Her death is a great loss to the society, whose motherly affection to the people shall never be found again, the message read.

The fraternity of SSA Rajya Mission also expressed deep sorrow at the untimely demise of Yakot Siram.

Her strong will and determination to educate her children and mould them into torch bearers of our society will always be remembered by each and every individual of our state, said state project director P N Thungon in a condolence message.

“There is no grief greater than a mother’s death as the saying goes  “Mother & Motherland - greater than Heaven”.

The Higher and Technical Education Department, officers and officials of SSA Rajya Mission, employees of various schools also condoled the death of Yakot Siram.

Her last rite is expected to be performed at her native village, Yagrung on Friday.  

 

No compromise with quality education: Taloh

PASIGHAT, Jan 19: Industries and Textile Minister Tapang Taloh today called upon the teachers not to make any compromise with the quality of teaching. He was addressing the in-service teachers after he inaugurated the five days in-service teachers training programme organized by Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) district mission at the community hall, Pangin.

The present government is committed to eliminate illiteracy and there will be no compromise with quality education in the state, he said.

EAC Pangin Taddo Borang, Tani Talom, DDSE, Talem Jamoh, DPC (RMSA) and Kalom Ering, SSA Coordinator were also present on the occasion.

He appealed to the trainees to be attentive and sincere while participating in the training programme for proper implementation of Right-To-Education (RTE) in the area. Taloh further urged them to imbibe a sense of patriotism and shoulder responsibilities to make the students worthy citizens. The minister advised them to stay in their respective posting places for discharging duties regularly and sincerely. He directed the DDSE to initiate stringent action against the teachers who fail to perform their duties up to the expectations.

According to Tani Talom, DDSE, who is also the District Project Officer, SSA, the main objective of the training was to enrich the knowledge of the trainees about the latest educational technology, planning, management and effective administration.

Talom sought societal participations from parents, NGOs and PRIs in managing the effective implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes as well achieving the quality education in the district.

The five days training is being attended by the ADEOs, APOs, BRCCs, CRCCs, BRPs and STs, JTs and HTs of Pangin-Boleng blocks. DIPRO

Taloh visits remote Pangkang

Tapang Taloh along with ADC Boleng Taho Mize, EAC Pangin Taddo Borang, Tapang Tamut Prez (BCCI) and host of officers and party functionaries visited the far-flung Pangkang-Jorkong and Pankang-Kumku villages on January  17 and 18.

Addressing the villagers at the village Musups (Community Hall), Taloh sought cooperation of the people for development of the state.  He claimed that  present Nabam Tuki-led people-friendly state government would always respond promptly to mitigate the hardships of the common masses.

He disclosed various developmental schemes and projects being taken up by his ministry in particular and overall achievements of the state government.

The minister reiterated that hydro power project could bring prosperity to  the state.  It would reduce poverty and unemployment besides helping in  implementation all the developmental plans and programmes successfully. The people should come forward for larger interest of the state, he appealed.

Taloh assured to streamline educational activities and advised the villagers to cultivate cash crops like tea, orange, pineapple, turmeric, ginger etc to boost village economy and discourage shifting cultivation.

While showing his concern over the infrastructural bottlenecks and other grievances placed by the villagers, the minister sanctioned two rural link roads and further assured to address the  remaining genuine demands on priority basis. DIPRO

 

SPD  reviews achievements of KGBV in East Kameng

SEPPA, Jan 19: State Project Director, SSA Rajya Mission PN Thungon affirmed that salary of SSA teachers and functionaries will be given priority. He gave this assurance while interacting with the officers and officials of SSA District Mission, Seppa on January 11 last. The team of SSA Rajya Mission including Ashok Tajo, Dy. SPD, P K Lombi, State Gender Coordinator was in East Kameng to get first hand experience and real picture of the functioning and achievement of three KGBVs in the  district.

Thungon, however, expressed his concern at the  financial matters prevailing in the state.

While visiting the KGBV, Bameng on January 12 with his team, Thungon suggested necessary urgent steps required to reshape the management for effective functioning.

The team was accompanied by Kata Rangmo, Dy Director of School Education, Seppa.  

He also visited KGBV Chyangtajo on January 13. He was very much impressed with the functioning and teaching quality of KGBV in a remote area. He inspected the kitchen, hostel, classroom  and appreciated girl-friendly environment of the school.

On January 14, Thungon inspected the office premises, kitchen, classrooms and hostel of  KGBV Wessang. The girls’ friendly infrastructure, facilities and educational environment will certainly gear up the quality of learning, he added.

Thungon expressed his satisfaction over the achievements of both Chyangtajo and Wessang KGBVs, which will help in achieving the goal of Universalization of Elementary Education and bridging social and gender gap.

While interacting with girl students, Thungon emphasized on the physical growth, balance diet besides mental growth and development of life skills. DIPRO

 

Mobile office reaches Dambuk

ROING, Jan 19:  Continuing her efforts to reach out to the people of remote areas, Lower Dibang Valley deputy commissioner Garima Gupta, set up a mobile office at remote Sub-Divisional Headquarter, Dambuk on January 18.

While interacting with the people of Dambuk, Gupta said, “Our efforts are on to reach out to the people and provide facilities at their door step by conducting such Mobile Offices. She called upon them to avail the benefits and assured them that mobile offices would be conducted in future too.

Veenu Bansal, Superintendent of Police, informed that efforts are on to strengthen police resources at Dambuk Police Station and Paglam outpost to thwart the presence of underground (UG) elements.

He requested the people to be more vigilant and inform the police in case of any doubts about the  presence of UG elements.  

He also informed that major recruitment rally in police forces would be conducted shortly for strengthening the state police force and requested the eligible candidates to avail the opportunity.

Preetha Gopan, Asst. Commandant, CRPF, stations at Roing also appealed to the eligible candidates to join CRPF and informed that major recruitment rally for North Eastern people will be carried out soon considering the minimal representation of this part of the country in defense force.

People of Dambuk requested the DC to conduct such camps in future also for  the benefit of the nearby villages. They demanded for strengthening the police force at Dambuk Police Station, posting X–Ray technician at PHC and establishment of SBI branch at Dambuk. They further requested the DC to mitigate  the problems like shortage of teachers in various schools, absence of veterinary officer, non-availability of PDS item, non-functioning of State Transport bus etc.

Large number of PRI members who attended in the mobile camp also requested the DC for conducting such camp at Anpum. They demanded early completion of bridge at Sisiri river, strengthening the check post at Paglam and establishment of an IRBn battalion at Paglam.

The DC  distributed agriculture hand tool kits to the farmers under RKVY, a centrally sponsored scheme with the initiative of T Modi, ADO incharge Dambuk.

Accompanied by SP, T Tatak, DDSE, A Yirang, DMO, M Dirchi, DPO, she  also visited Govt. Middle School and Health Sub-Centre at Bomjir, Sisiri bridge site along Dambuk-Paglam road, Govt. Middle School at Poblung-Sirang, Govt. Hr. Sec. School and PHC, Dambuk.

The people from 8 villages availed the benefits of the Mobile Office in which the team of officers and officials from the district headquarter issued driving license, ST & PRC, renewal of ILP, guns licence, ration cards. DIPRO

Science stream at IGG College demanded

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: Arunachal Law Students’ Union (ALSU) appealed to the Chief Minister, Education Minister and the Chief Secretary for immediate introduction of Science stream at Indira Gandhi Govt. College, Tezu.

Established in 1986, the college is the third largest and oldest college in the state in terms of student strength and establishment. The college accredited with B+ grade by NAAC is conveniently located in a plain area of 200 acres of land, ALSU said while describing the genuineness and the importance of introducing Science stream in the college.

“Immediate introduction of Science stream in the college having six districts under its catchment area is a genuine case for consideration,” ALSU said.

Meanwhile, ALSU questioned the authority concerned regarding the very existence of Govt College, Nyapin, the foundation stone of which was reportedly laid by former chief minister late Dorjee Khandu in 2008..

It claimed that few infrastructure, like principal quarter, buildings, fencing/wall were erected and principal posted for the college. But there has been no information regarding posting of teaching staff, ALSU said and urged the authority concerned to give attention towards development of the college.

 

Minister visits Dambuk

ROING, Jan 19:  Minister Urban Development and Town Planning and Fisheries Minister Rajesh Tacho visited Dambuk on January 17 last.

Addressing a public meeting in his brief halt at Dambuk, he said that remote places like Anini and Dambuk are lagging far behind in terms of development  due to its landlocked nature. He emphasized that the state govt. needs to give special attention towards such places in order to bring them at par with other areas.

Responding  to a public memorandum,  the minister assured to take up the matter with the authorities concerned . The memorandum submitted by Gotem Tayeng, on behalf of Dambuk public included  demands for allocation of fund for Sirki Micro Irrigation Project and boundary protection wall for the new Dambuk township. Survey of Bomdila township

BOMDILA, Jan 19: With the completion of the training for the field functionaries of Land Management of West Kameng district, Cadastral Survey of the Bomdila township would be taken up very soon.

Informing about the proposed survey, the LR and SO has asked the HoDs to submit list and other details of land allotment cases of the departments pending for regularization from the state government. (DIPRO)

 

‘Arunachal folktales’ in Malayalam

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: Arunachal Pradesh Governor J J Singh would release the first book in Malayalam highlighting the cultural heritage of Arunachal at the Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, on Saturday.

The, book, titled, “Arunachal Naatodi Kathakal’ (Arunachal Folktales) is first of its kind  and it is written by Sathyanarayanan Mundayoor, Coordinator, Lohit Youth Library Movement, while the Illustrator is Indrim Boo, a Mishmi professional artist from Tezu, now working in Delhi. The publishers are Mathrubhumi, a reputed publishing house of Kerala.

The book targets the youth of age group 10-15 years as well as those interested in the cultural heritage of tribal societies and the North East.

 

Power crisis irks MP

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: Member of Parliament (MP) Ninong Ering expressed displeasure over the ir-responsive attitude of the department concerned and district authority towards his request for restoring power supply at Pasighat which reeling under severe power crisis since last couple of weeks.

The MP said that he had written letters to Power Secretary, Chief Engineer, SE and Deputy Commissioner, East Siang district for improving the  power supply but no fruitful action has taken by them till today for normalizing the power situation.

The MP alleged that the executive engineer concerned had undermined and refused to meet him despite several requests made for discussion regarding the power crisis. Even the MP visited the EE’s office several times but to no avail.

 

Apex Bank to launch recovery drive

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: Arunachal Pradesh State Co-operative Apex Bank Ltd (APSCABL)  in its board meeting held at Naharlagun today decided to initiate drastic recovery drive to achieve the desired recovery target.

The administrator has directed the officials to keep a close liaison with the Certificate Officers especially for recovery of large loan accounts. Besides various important decisions, the board sanctioned loans of Rs.687.30 lakhs only to 126 units under agriculture and priority sector schemes.

Meanwhile, the employees of the bank felicitated Onit Panyang, DC cum  Administrator, State Coop. Apex Bank on his induction to IAS cadre.  

During the year, the bank deputed some officers  and staff of the bank for different training programme conducted by IIBM/ ICM/ MDMI etc.

 

ALWS demands not to release BGM

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: All Londa Welfare Society (ALWS) appealed to the Rural Work Department (RWD) not to release the Bank Guarantee Money (BGM) against PMGSY road from 20 KM point Seppa to Chayang-Tajo-Londa village until and unless the contractor concerned carry out maintenance work within the ‘Defection Liability Period’.

The society, in a release, alleged that the contractor concerned has not yet started the maintenance work of the said road although the Defection Liability Period is about to get over in March 2012.

The society suggested the RWD department to execute the maintenance work departmentally by diverting the Bank Guarantee Money of the contractor, if contractor(s) fails to do the work.

 

Action against DC demanded

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: Protesting the suspension order of a tender process for infrastructure development work at Aalo by the West Kameng deputy commissioner, M/s TK Enterprise, in a letter to the chief minister, appealed to initiate necessary action against the DC for his ‘wrongful and illegal’ order, which according to TK Enterprise, was beyond his competence and aimed at disrupting the peaceful tender process initiated by the department concerned.

The letter alleged that the suspension order was issued at the behest of few unknown politically motivated individuals.

“Neither the executing agency nor the bidding parties had complained of occurrence of law and order problems, it said.

 

ARWC meeting

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: An emergency meeting of All Rubu Welfare Committee (ARWC), Ziro was held today to review the bail petition hearing of Subu Sala and Tallo Chobin at the judicial court of Ziro. The members decided to appeal to the authorities concerned to deal with the case as per the rule of law and not under any undue influence from any quarter. The meeting also decided to submit a memorandum in this regard to the Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner.

ARWC further appealed to the authority concerned to take stern action against the culprits, especially in view of frequent cases of assault at Ziro these days.

For the farmers

The Indian Government is planning a spoken web service that will prove to be a boon for farmers living in far flung areas. The spoken web service is basically an interactive medium for the farming community.

Close to 60 per cent of Indians earn their livelihood through agriculture.

The ministry already provides SMS and an Integrated Voice Response System (IVRS) service to farmers, giving them farming information, weather and climatic details to help them meet agricultural targets. The need for spoken web service was felt as it is easier to provide information through an interactive mode.

In a spoken web service people can speak and interact with web information through voice. Farmers can dial a toll-free number and ask questions and get them answered. In some specific cases, questions can be recorded and later answered by experts.

Launched in 2009, the SMS and IVRS system now covers 2.8 million growers.

By 2017 the system is expected to cover 20 million. It has been estimated that the short and timely alerts to farmers about the weather have led to economic benefits worth a whopping Rs 50,000 crore annually.

No system is perfect

Dear Editor,

I want to express my view regarding the latest APPSC controversy.

No system is foolproof. Not even the judiciary or the election commission or the public service commission or for that matter the democracy itself. However even with its flaws, there  are the best available mechanism through which our society is governed and run. To hype 1 percent error in the commission to 100 percent mismanagement is beyond anybody's comprehension. If they ever had the evidence why didn't they approach before the court of law? They had over two months to do so. They instead decided otherwise. They took advantage of the goodwill gesture shown by the commission to re-look into any genuine grievances as alleged. The commission had postponed the notified date of viva voice/interview. This move by the commission was viewed as weak posturing and an opportunity for them to further their malicious and ultimate intention of re-examination-"a second chance to sit for the same examination!" The period was used for false propaganda and hence approached various apex organizations for support but none came forward. How could any right thinking organization support there extreme demand that are both unfair and based purely on conspiracy. In doing-so they were all maligning the effort, dedication and hard work of those candidates who were selected for the interview. The bandh call in itself was never genuine nor was in its conduct. There was participation of groups affiliated to political factions who are hell bent on using every opportunity to defame the image of the current government and its leadership. We the masses are well aware of it. Institutions and political leaders need to develop and guard new administrative aggression which can take the message to such mushrooming groups in clear terms and set precedence. Media too need to guard itself.

Last but not the least, hats off to the commission for upholding the prestige and value of the democratic institution.

Tender process was free, transparent and exemplary

Dear Editor,

Tender process initiated by PWD for infrastructure development of Aalo township road was free, transparent and exemplary for all executing technical dept. of the State. I as a representative from one of the bidders namely M/s. T.K. Enterprise Naharlagun hail the executing officials for their sincerity, firmness and neutrality.

Accusations against Paktu Area Peoples Forum (AAPF and Paktu Ao Youth Welfare Association (PAYWA) as carried in media on dated 19.01.2012 are false, fabricated and politically motivated, as the said organizations were neither the participants in the bid nor are they executing agencies of the said work.

The allegations of not allowing firms from outside of the district was grossly misleading as the tender was floated as early as 29th December 2011 in all State Dailies and every interested bidder had ample time to participate. The firm further regrets the manner in which the district magistrate Amzad Tak behaved in a partisan manner by taking out a suspension order of the tender process on flimsy ground of law and order problems that was dramatized by few unknown politically motivated, individuals well outside the premises of the office of Executive Engineer Aalo.

I laud the transparent manner followed by the Executive Department by not succumbing to any external pressure and opening the bid documents in front of as many as 4 (four) bidders namely M/s.T.K.Enterprise, G-Extension, Naharlagun, M/s. K.K.K.Enterprise, Aalo, M/s.A.B. Construction Company, Aalo, M/s. M.B.Enterprise, Daporijo well on stipulated date and thereby preventing wastage of time bound Govt. programmes.

The firm further appreciate the Executive officials namely M.Bam, S.E,Aalo, and Dagyom Angu, E.E, Aalo and the dedicated team of PWD for their exemplary display of courage and sincerity to establish Govt. norms and procedures.
